In response to the global coronavirus outbreak, St Peter’s School, York has implemented a strict visitor policy to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the whole school community. Following instructions from the government, the school site will be closed to pupils (apart from children of key workers) from the end of the day on Friday 20 March with no indication given of when that situation will change. We ask that all non-essential visitors also stay away from the school at this time. If your visit is essential, please read our visitor policy before you visit the school.

Clifton School and Nursery

Nursery Sport Showcase 2017

The Nursery at Clifton sits next to our main school building, offering a distinct but familiar environment for the very start of early years education. Children in our Nursery are looked after by a dedicated team of highly-qualified early years staff.

Children start the September following their third birthday.

Our dedicated nursery staff nurture each child to feel comfortable, confident and a valued part of the Clifton family. With Early Years Foundation Stage as a curricular basis, the emphasis is on learning through play and discovery, as children develop their social, language and physical abilities, with pupils who are ready being encouraged to develop their number and reading skills as well.

Our outdoor environment provides children with plenty of inspiration, as ponds, play areas, a jungle gym and our nearby forest school encourage exploration and imagination, whilst a colourful and spacious interior accommodates an exciting variety of toys, games and facilities.

Children can either stay for full days or morning (8.45am – 11.40am) or afternoon (12.40pm – 3.15pm) sessions.
