In response to the global coronavirus outbreak, St Peter’s School, York has implemented a strict visitor policy to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the whole school community. Following instructions from the government, the school site will be closed to pupils (apart from children of key workers) from the end of the day on Friday 20 March with no indication given of when that situation will change. We ask that all non-essential visitors also stay away from the school at this time. If your visit is essential, please read our visitor policy before you visit the school.

Reception

IMG 1460

Just the other side of our playground from Nursery are our two Reception classes. Being in the same building as Years 1- 3 helps to foster a sense of community and confidence in the wider school environment, and encourages friendships across academic years.

It is in Reception that pupils’ curiosity and creativity really start to develop. This guides our curriculum, which, through a variety of themes and texts, nurtures each child’s unique talents and perspectives.

Reception children have access to all the same outdoor facilities used by the Nursery, and the recently refurbished classrooms offer a bright and inspiring space for messy play and active learning with our teachers and full-time teaching assistants.
