Literature Festival headliner visits Clifton

Guy Bass visits Clifton
Best-selling children’s author Guy Bass has been sharing his unique creativity and humour with pupils at Clifton School and Nursery.

As part of the York Literature Festival, the popular author spoke with Clifton Year 3 and St Olave’s J1 pupils about his favourite books, including Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, which inspired his most famous creation, Stitch Head, the forgotten creation of a mad scientist.

As well as sharing some exciting readings from his books, Guy introduced the children to Stitch Head himself – though the little character did lose a few limbs in the process!

Year 3 teacher Miss Platts said: “This talk was tremendous fun – Guy shared some fantastic creativity and writing tips with the children, who were laughing the whole way through. A big thank you to Guy for sharing his experience and inspiration with our pupils.”
