Clifton School and Nursery
Pupils got to experience a taste of life on the stage this week, when each year group took part in a West End in Schools workshop.
In addition to learning the lingo of theatre, Reception and Year 1 acted out scenes from Oliver Jeffers’ How to Catch a Star and Year’s 2 and 3 acted out Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are. These adaptations were done through a mixture of moves coordinated to music.
Year 3 teacher Miss Platts said: “The workshops were a fantastic way for the children to retell a story through music and dance. The final performances emulated the plots brilliantly and the children loved exploring a text in a different way.”
