Clifton School and Nursery
A typical British summer did not hold pupils back from taking part in 2019’s Sports Day at Clifton School and Nursery.
Poor weather forced most of the day’s events inside this year, all except the 1200 metre run which went ahead as planned outside. Teamed up in their houses, pupils took part in an obstacle course, relay races, skipping and the ever popular egg and spoon and sack races.
Throughout the day pupils demonstrated outstanding teamwork, enthusiasm and resilience to an audience of family members and teachers.
Rachel Hicks, Head of PE at Clifton, said: “In true Clifton spirit we didn't let the poor summer weather spoil our annual sports day. We altered the events to fit into the sports hall and the children still managed to show off their skills and showed plenty of competitive desire to do their very best. The pupil’s enthusiasm and determination was the highlight of the day. Well done everybody!”
