Clifton School and Nursery
Clifton School and Nursey celebrated Crazy Hat and Hair Day in style this morning. We spotted Buzz Light-year, dinosaurs, unicorns and all sorts of crazy headwear and hair accessories.
The day was a way for the School to learn more about The Little Princess Trust. This great charity provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions. The charity also funds pioneering, life-saving research into childhood cancers.
Miss Beadle has been raising money for The Little Princess Trust over the past few weeks. She was aiming for £250. However, after counting online donations and cash collections she has totalled at a staggering £1,400! Congratulations for the huge donation and also for the courage to cut off 16inches of hair! “I was aiming for 10 so I’m chuffed it came to more as it will make a longer wig for somebody who needs it.”
When asked if Miss Beadle was nervous she said “I wasn’t too nervous because I know my hair is going to an excellent cause and feel fortunate that I am happy and healthy enough for my hair to grow back in time”.
Well done to everyone that helped raise money and participated by wearing their most outstanding headpieces!
