‘L’Estranges in the Night’

Renowned musicians Alexander and Joanna L’Estrange will be visiting St Peter’s School on Wednesday 25 February.

Alexander L’Estrange is one of Britain’s most popular choral composers and song writers and his wife Joanna is a professional singer and choral coach.

The visit will see them conduct an afternoon workshop with our pupils, focusing on jazz vocals and singing swing and pop. The workshop will also include work on a movement from Alexander’s cantata Song Cycle, which premiered in York Minster as part of last year’s Grand Départ.

After the workshop they will perform ‘L’Estranges in the Night’, a duo jazz set, in the Memorial Hall. The concert, which starts at 7pm, is free of charge but tickets are required.

Refreshments will be available from 6.30pm and during the interval.
