Old Peterite (OP) Day

Old Peterite Day (OP Day)

Old Peterite Day takes place each year before the start of term and is the biggest Old Peterite event in the calendar each year. OP Day will be taking place on Saturday 4 September 2021.

The day includes tours, a service in the Chapel and the chance to watch the annual OP V School retiring Captains sports matches, whilst enjoying refreshments and the opportunity to catch up with friends.  We have a play area for children, and a bouncy castle, so guests of all ages and Old Peterites and their families are welcome to join us.

OP Day is a free event, and we ask that you register so we can prepare catering for all our guests. PLease note there will be a cash bar on site, as well as an ice-cream van.

OP Day is open to the whole School Community and is a great way to bring together Old Peterites, their families, Parents, Old Peterite Parents, former staff and staff from the School.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the dress code for OP Day?

The dress code is informal.  We have limited shelter and seating around the pitches, so you may wish to bring warm or waterproof clothes if the weather is unseasonal, and you may wish to bring a camping chair.

Can I bring my children?

Yes! Children are very welcome.  There will be a variety of children's toys and a bouncy castle (weather permitting). Please supervise your children at all times, but all ages are very welcome.  Baby-changing facilities are available.

Is parking available on site?

Yes, you may park on site - there will be parking at St Peter's School and staff will be on hand to guide you. Once parking is full at St Peter's, traffic will be redirected to The Avenue for parking on the grass at St Olave's.

It might be necessary to park at Marygate if all spaces have been taken by the time you arrive.  If you have limited mobility, we are very happy to reserve a space for you - please contact us at

Do we need to come for the whole day?

Not at all - many people do, but you are welcome to join us for as much or as little of the day as you like.

Can I bring guests?

Absolutely - you are welcome to bring family and friends with you.

Do I need a ticket?

No - but please let us know if you would like to come, and how many guests you would like to bring; this helps us to plan our catering.

We can't be there between 10.30am - 11.30am - can we tour at a different time?

Unfortunately we can't arrange tours at other times on OP Day, because we're also getting the buildings ready for the start of term, but we would be delighted to welcome you for a tour on another day - please contact us at

I'm worried about coming on my own, or that I'll be the only one from my year.

Lots of people come on their own, and even if you don't recognise anyone, we will introduce you to other OPs - OP Day is a chance to make new friends, as well as seeing old ones.  Let us know when you arrive, and we'll look after you.

Can I buy OP memorabilia on the day?

Yes, between 1.30pm - 4.00pm next to the Old School Shop, at the back of The Pavillion.

I have some items that I would like to donate to the archives - can I bring them with me?

Yes - the Archives team will be on hand between 12.00pm - 4pm at the Old School Shop at the back of The Pavillion, and will be delighted to accept any donations.

I haven't been back to St Peter's since I left school - can I come to OP Day?

Yes! Lots of people choose to come to OP Day even if they haven't been back for a long time.  However,  if you haven't been in touch with us for a while, we would be grateful if you could also update your information, so that we can send you any updates on OP Day, and keep in touch about other events that you might be interested in.
