Pupil Sylvia wrote and excellent report about a recent St Peter's music trip to Paris:
The Music department’s 2026 tour to Paris was a roaring success. The students enjoyed visits to the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Arc de Triomphe and many more Parisian landmarks.
Alongside sightseeing, the week long tour saw musicians from Years 10-13 display their talents in a variety of venues. The two sacred concerts, one in Chartres Cathedral, and the other in La Madeleine showcased impressive performances by the Tour Choir of pieces by Rutter, Stanford and Goodall. Both the Saxophone Ensemble and Clarinet Choir filled the spaces with technically challenging pieces with repertoire from Mozart to Borodin. Furthermore, the Chamber and Chapel Choirs exhibited their hard work, singing a variety of pieces from across the year’s performances, including some lovely unaccompanied singing in multiple parts. Both concerts were incredibly well received, and it was a joy to sing and play in such beautiful spaces.
In contrast, the concert on the Videopolis stage in Disneyland Paris was a fun showcase of lighthearted pop and jazz pieces. The Tour Choir sang a medley from The Lion King, which was a particular favourite with the audience, and the Swing Band showcased charts such as Hit the road Jack and All of Me. The concert was packed, with park-goers and parents alike enjoying the show. To round off the tour, a very well-attended concert on the Bandstand in Luxembourg Gardens showcased almost all the ensembles, with the inclusion of the Boys' Barbershop being a highlight. Throughout the tour many U6th musicians exhibited impressive solo performances - a perfect way to round off their St Peter’s musical experience. A huge thank you to all the staff who helped make the tour a success.
