In response to the global coronavirus outbreak, St Peter’s School, York has implemented a strict visitor policy to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the whole school community. Following instructions from the government, the school site will be closed to pupils (apart from children of key workers) from the end of the day on Friday 20 March with no indication given of when that situation will change. We ask that all non-essential visitors also stay away from the school at this time. If your visit is essential, please read our visitor policy before you visit the school.

Sheldon Bonner

Sheldon BonnerSheldon started work with us in November 2014.  He was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour in December 2016.   He supported George who acted as Head of Grounds as he was able between operations and treatments in the interim for the next year before retiring due to ill health.   He was hugely committed to the school, loved working here and always pushed himself and his team to deliver the best playing services possible for pupils here.   He was a singer - was on X factor, he had articles published about the school in an industry magazine, he led us to 2nd place in two national industry groundsmanship awards (he was so cross that he got sick before we won!!), and lifted the standard of the grounds hugely in a very short period.  His impact on the external environment in such a short period of time is a huge testament to him.
