Professor Jacquie McGlade:
Creating a Prosperous Future for All
Tuesday 1 October 7pm
The pace of change today is creating opportunities for young people to get involved in improving the lives of communities all around the world. Through social media, community collaborative platforms, and active campaigning, science and technology can open the door to solutions previously thought impossible.
During this talk, Professor McGlade will look into some of the many real-life examples where ideas and activities led by Generation Z have created change on the ground and in policies. It is often thought that science is so specialised that it cannot be accessible to all. This talk is about changing this myth, by showing how everyone can participate in scientific thinking and working to help create a prosperous future for all.
Professor Jacquie McGlade is a marine biologist and environmental informatics professor at UCL. Her work at UCL's Institute for Global Prosperity encompasses developing quantitative metrics of prosperity and artificial intelligence.
