On Tuesday 2 May at 7pm, we will welcome Sir Ron Cooke to St Peter’s School, to deliver a lecture based around his book, 'York - Changing the Face of the City'.

We're all proud of York, but is the city all that it could be? Sir Ron Cooke is a passionate and experienced authority on the city, its history and its geography. Ron will discuss York’s great success in preserving its rich variety of historical buildings, but also encourage everyone to consider York’s abundant potential as a thriving, commercial, modern city.

About the speaker
Sir Ron Cooke was Vice-Chancellor of the University of York from 1993 to 2002. He was President of The Royal Geographical Society, and was made an Honorary Freeman of the City of York in 2006. A passionate advocate for York and a resident of the City, Ron is active in city life, for instance in planning and restoration works through the York Civic Trust of which he is a Trustee.
