In response to the global coronavirus outbreak, St Peter’s School, York has implemented a strict visitor policy to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the whole school community. Following instructions from the government, the school site will be closed to pupils (apart from children of key workers) from the end of the day on Friday 20 March with no indication given of when that situation will change. We ask that all non-essential visitors also stay away from the school at this time. If your visit is essential, please read our visitor policy before you visit the school.

Visiting us

We are very happy to arrange an individual visit for you and your family.  It is best to visit us during term time, so that you can meet pupils and staff and see the pupils in action.

You are also very welcome to join us for one of our Open Mornings throughout the year.

Visitors for St Olave's arriving on foot should report to the entrance at the bottom of Queen Anne's Road. For satellite navigation, use postcode YO30 6AB. The entrance to our campus is located immediately to the west of the footbridge over the A19. Parking is available on site.

From the City Centre

Take the Thirsk road (A19) from Bootham Bar. The School is 600 metres on the left, immediately after the footbridge.

From the A64 from Leeds

Take the Northern Ring Road (A1237). At the fifth roundabout turn right along the A19 (towards the City Centre).

From the A64 from Scarborough

Take the Northern Ring Road (A1237 - sign posted Harrogate). At the seventh roundabout turn left along the A19 (towards the City Centre).

York is two hours by train from London and about an hour by road from Leeds-Bradford Airport. The School is a 15 minute walk from York Railway Station.
