Holly hockey championshipsAdding to her growing list of sporting successes, J5 pupil Holly has been selected to represent the North East in the National U13 Hockey Regional Championships 2018.

Along with two other girls from St Olave’s, Holly was part of the same squad last year, helping the team to victory in the tournament. So instrumental was Holly’s role, she was then called up to the UK Lions Squad for the 2017-18 season.

Holly will now be looking to repeat last year’s success with the North East team, having come through a tough selection process to make the squad of 18 from over 100 candidates. The Championships take place from the 6-8 July at Manchester University, and Holly will take part in elite training sessions and warm up matches in the build-up to the event.

Emma Brough, who coaches Holly, said: “To anybody who’s worked with Holly or watched her play, this latest news comes as no surprise. Holly puts in so much hard work and has a fantastic attitude to the game, and she fully deserves to be recognised amongst some of the region’s most promising players.”
