A team of pupils from St Peter's and St Olave's have come third in the UKMT Maths Challenge regional finals.
Toby and Harry, Third Formers at St Peter’s, and Martha and Thomas, J5 pupils at St Olave’s, made up the team of four, who narrowly missed out on first and second place.
With 22 teams from across the region taking part, the UK Mathematics Trust challenge puts the pupils’ maths, communication and teamwork skills to the test across four rounds of mathematical problems.
Nikki Rohlfing, Maths teacher at St Peter’s, said: “The team displayed some seriously impressive mathematical thinking throughout each challenge and should be very proud to have come ahead of so many other strong teams. Their positive attitude and enthusiasm throughout the day was great to see and I look forward to seeing them represent the school in future competitions.”
