50 St Olave’s pupils recently sat their ABRSM and Trinity music exams, achieving a wonderful set of results.

Examinations took place for a large range of instruments, including bassoon, harp, saxophone, drums, singing and clarinet. Overall, 23% of pupils gained ‘Distinctions’ and 55% ‘Merits’. Our pupils are incredibly happy about the results they have achieved.

As a school, we were complimented on the consistently high standard of our performances. We were also commended for the strength pupils demonstrated in the supporting tests.

Our pupils are now busy preparing for another musical term, which will include our House Music event, two informal concerts, external music exams, our summer concert, the J1 production and of course the Leavers Service and Speech Day: an exciting end to another busy musical year.

Gill Holmes, Director of Music at St Olave’s, said: “I would like to pass on my congratulations to all of our pupils who took their examinations. I also want to say a massive thank you to our team of visiting teachers who were vital in preparing our musicians.”
