St Peter's School
The St Peter’s School campus is situated in Clifton just outside the ancient city walls of York; a convenient and central location which offers our pupils easy access to one of England’s most beautiful cities.
Behind the historic School frontage are 47 acres of grounds, industry-recgonised sports pitches, a new, award-winning swimming pool, and a boat house on the banks of the River Ouse.
These facilities are shared by all three schools; Clifton, St Olave’s and St Peter’s. The schools form a loose triangle on three sides of the grounds; close enough to feel connected but far enough apart to maintain their distinct characters. As they progress through the schools, this mix of familiarity and change helps provide stability and continuity to a child.
The schools all share our facilities, including the 25-metre indoor pool, plentiful sports pitches, and for younger pupils, our hugely popular forest school.
The School boarding houses, Linton, The Manor and Dronfield are all close by, linked to the School by a footbridge, while The Rise is located on campus.
At the front of St Peter’s, the chapel, library and Memorial Hall form the heart of the School. Teaching takes place in the campus buildings within and behind this frontage.
The campus is cared for all year round by a team of dedicated groundsmen, estate managers and facilities assistants. They ensure that the campus is always well kept, secure, and functioning smoothly.
