In response to the global coronavirus outbreak, St Peter’s School, York has implemented a strict visitor policy to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the whole school community. Following instructions from the government, the school site will be closed to pupils (apart from children of key workers) from the end of the day on Friday 20 March with no indication given of when that situation will change. We ask that all non-essential visitors also stay away from the school at this time. If your visit is essential, please read our visitor policy before you visit the school.

St Peter's School

Approximately 90% of Sixth Form pupils go straight on to further or higher education study upon leaving St Peter’s, choosing establishments both in the UK and overseas. Around half of our pupils go on to elite and Russell Group Universities (which includes Oxford and Cambridge) in the UK. In 2019, 69 pupils went on to study at Russell Group Universities.

Our pupils go on to study a wide range of subjects, from medicine to mathematics, law to languages. The Arts are consistently a very popular choice for further study.

Each year a proportion of students choose to take a gap year before progressing to university, and a growing number also elect to go straight into employment. We have also seen an increase in pupils being accepted on to degree apprenticeship schemes.
