St Peter's School
York Independent State School Partnership Masterclass Programme 2020 for Y9&10
Saturday 7, 14 & 21 March St Peter’s School
The big question explored, explained, examined… What is Beauty?
The York ISSP masterclass programme, held annually since 2008, is designed to push and challenge York’s most able and interested students and is focused on searching for answers to a question. This year’s focus ‘What is Beauty?’ is a question which both fascinates people and can be examined from a wide variety of perspectives.
This year, we have seven masterclasses available, from which the students choose one they will study in depth across three sessions. These are not taster sessions but are designed to be academically challenging, thought provoking and stimulating opportunities to learn more about a subject that the student loves; an opportunity to debate and discuss alongside like-minded young people.
This is a FREE event for students in the Partnership’s schools.
The masterclasses for Y9-10 take place at St Peter’s School over three Saturdays, as above and will run from 1.15pm to 5pm. To be offered a place, students must commit to attend all three Saturdays.
You will find this year’s masterclass titles and a description of their content on the ISSP website www.yorkissp.org from Monday 27 January. Take a look at what our tutors have on offer this year, then please discuss the options with your son/daughter before deciding which masterclass they would like to apply for. Once the decision has been made, fill in the online application form.
The form will close on Monday 10th February or for each masterclass as it becomes full. If you experience difficulty completing the form, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that submitting the form does not guarantee a place on a masterclass: you will be contacted by email after the deadline to let you know if your application has been successful.
