Following instructions from the government, the school site will be closed to pupils (apart from children of key workers) from the end of the day on Friday 20 March with no indication given of when that situation will change. Chocolate Brownies


These melt-in-the-mouth chocolate brownies are a firm favourite with pupils and staff at St Peter's. Now you can make these delicious chocolate brownies at home with this easy recipe (makes 8 - 10 portions).


  • 225g butter-cut into small squares
  • 450g caster sugar 
  • 140g dark chocolate drops/callets
  • 5 eggs - beaten
  • 110g plain flour 
  • 55g Cocoa powder 
  • Drop of vanilla essence


  • Measuring scales
  • 1 medium size bowl
  • Measuring jug 
  • Wooden spoon
  • Whisk
  • 20cm x 30cm lined baking tray
  • Parchment paper


  1. Pre-heat oven to 170 degrees
  2. Melt the chocolate drops with the butter, sugar and vanilla essence until all melted 
  3. Leave to cool
  4. Add the beaten eggs then gently fold in the flour and cocoa powder and give it a good mix
  5. Bake for about 20 minutes until just set
