First XI Match report
The first team were unfortunate to lose to Sedbergh on Saturday in a game where they were leading until 4 minutes before full time.

In the first half St Peter’s absorbed a lot of pressure in defence, but failed to produce many effective outlets within their own half. The score remained 0-0 going into half time, and with a few changes to their formation, St Peter’s came out fighting in the second half. With their play looking much more positive they were able to produce some effective runs into the 23 metre area, and converted their first short corner very efficiently to lead the game 1-0 with 15 minutes left!

Sedbergh continued to force the mistakes inside St Peter’s D, resulting in them scoring 2 goals within the final 4 minutes of the game. Despite the eventual outcome, the girls showed real grit and determination against an extremely strong opposition.

1st XV Match report
Conceding early tries, it was always going to be difficult to get back into this match. We were 12-0 down after ten minutes after some direct play from the Durham backs. We did manage to claw back a try from a driving lineout but the score was 24-5 at half time.

The second half was a different affair with some tighter defense and some strong carries by the forwards. Playing our best rugby of the match we won the second half 12-7 and the game ended 31-17.

1st XV Match report
A very good win for the 1st XV showing great character to hold on for the win. Four well worked tries were scored from some good attacking play. We started well but were unable to take chances with mistakes being made at attacking lineouts. The first try came from some excellent build up play from the forwards with Ben Williams picking up a loose ball to cross the line.

Two further tries from our wingers Harry Stothard and Cormack Hopkinson, both well finished. Our final try came from Dominic Marsh who picked up from a scrum. The score could have been higher had we not given away so many penalties.
