Fourth Form pupils have immersed themselves in the Spanish way of life with an evening of talks, salsa dancing and continental cuisine.
The Catering Department specially prepared some authentic churros, which pupils tucked into while hearing a talk from students studying Modern Languages at the University of York about their experiences and recommendations.
Pupils and teachers alike then took to the dancefloor in the Memorial Hall, as Laucinda from Encuentro Latino lead the group through the basics of salsa dancing, before the pupils took the chance to showcase their new moves in pairs.
The evening concluded with yet more of the Catering Department’s creations, this time a wide array of Tapas, featuring tortilla, gazpacho, chorizo, aceitunas, jamón serrano and queso Manchego.
Anna Robinson, of the Modern Foreign Languages Department, said “This has been a fun and educational evening, which has allowed our pupils to savour a little of the Hispanic culture. I’d like to thank everybody who has contributed to making the evening such a success.”
