Festive Fun at the Cricket Dinner

Cricket Dinner

Parents and staff celebrated all things cricket on Saturday night at a special festive dinner in the Memorial Hall.

Whilst cricket may be the furthest thing from many minds at this time of year over 150 mums, dads, Old Peterites, supporters and sports staff enjoyed a five course dinner, and enjoyed the attentive service of our First X1, on bar duties for the evening as part of their efforts to raise funds for additional equipment, and looking very dapper in their cricket blazers.

It's been an eventful year for cricket at the School, with both St Peter’s School and St Olave’s School nationally recognised for the quality of coaching and facilities, the School’s second successful Summer Cricket Academy, the residency of the Yorkshire Diamonds at the school in July, the debut of Lower Sixth pupil Chris for Yorkshire County Cricket Club 2nd X1 and some excellent play and results across the year.

The proceeds from Saturday’s dinner will fund further development of the school’s cricket coaching facilities, which will enhance the opportunities of our pupils to enjoy and develop a lifelong love of the game.
