St Peter's Boarder Selected to Play Rugby for County

Hope

St Peter’s boarder Hope is celebrating after being selected for Yorkshire’s Under 18 Girls’ Rugby Squad at the age of only 16. She will represent her county in both the 15s and 7s teams.

Hope has been playing rugby for five years and has completed two seasons at the Under 15 level playing for Yorkshire.

Hope’s family has a long tradition of boarding at St Peter’s, with her older sister and brother both being past pupils of the school.

Hope said: “I am really excited to start playing on the under 18 team. The School and my house parents have been incredibly supportive in helping me balance my school and rugby commitments whether it’s training on evenings or matches on weekends.”

Hope’s House Parent, Jon Whitehouse, said: “Hope is a credit to the school and to her house. She shows great determination in both her school work and her commitment to the sport and we are always happy to support her, and all our pupils in pursuing their passions.”
