St Peter's School
The musical year has come to a close with two nights of outstanding music at our Cabaret concerts.
The concerts featured solo performances from the School’s Upper Sixth Form and a range of ensemble pieces from the School Choir, Chamber Choir, Little Big Band, Swing Band, Barbershop and Barbieshop groups.
For our Upper Sixth Form musicians, Cabaret is their last concert at St Peter’s and one of the final opportunities for them to perform for the school.
In addition to the solo performances, the audience was treated to ensemble singing from both the Chamber Choir and the School Choir, who sung swing classics as well as a medley of hits from Disney’s The Lion King.
A highlight of the concerts were the Barbershop and Barbieshop sets, who sang a mixture of songs including some original arrangements of pop classics such as Backstreet Boys’ I Want it that Way and Justin Bieber’s Love Yourself.
Paul Miles-Kingston, Director of Music, said: “‘It was a great Cabaret show again this year, with a good balance of full-tilt swing numbers and more intimate ballads with piano or small combos. There were some really enjoyable ensemble performances but the evening belonged to the Upper Sixth Form leavers who produced some fantastic solo moments.”
