St Peter's School
For the first time ever, the U14 Girls Hockey team have made history for the juniors by reaching the final stages of the national championships. In a thrilling end to the regional stages, the girls defeated Sedbergh in the Northern semi-final. They went on to beat GSAL in the final, with the score eventually decided on shuffles.
The result in the regional final was one of many strong victories they have achieved this term. The speed at which the girls have formed a cohesive squad is testament to their hard work and strong friendships.
Girls’ sport has had a very strong start to the school year. As well as successes in hockey, netball teams in all age groups are making excellent progress in county and regional competitions and our tennis players are making excellent progress in the LTA Schools’ Tennis tournament. We look forward to reporting more successes in the new year.
The national hockey finals are due to take place in Lee Valley, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, on Tuesday 25 February 2020. They face tough competition against the other finalists who include Framlingham and Loughborough High, but with their current form they should be confident of delivering a strong performance. All at St Peter’s will be wishing them very success!
