St Peter's School
The Debating Society had a fantastic evening with impressive performances from all of the year 9-11 students involved in the ESU Churchill Public Speaking Competition held at St Peter's School.
This prestigious competition has been running for 60 years and is the largest Public Speaking Competition in England and Wales, sponsored by the International Churchill Society. It encourages quick-thinking and is a fun way to develop oracy skills.
In the first round of regional competition, the debating society enjoyed an array of interesting and well-researched speeches, some thought-provoking questions, all lead by the excellent Chairpersons.
Well done indeed to all pupils involved! Congratulations to St Peter’s Team 1 as runners-up and to Malton School and their winning team to whom we wish the best of luck in the next round.
