In response to the global coronavirus outbreak, St Peter’s School, York has implemented a strict visitor policy to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the whole school community. Following instructions from the government, the school site will be closed to pupils (apart from children of key workers) from the end of the day on Friday 20 March with no indication given of when that situation will change. World Book Day at St Peter's School

Our pupils have been celebrating World Book Day with a visit from historical novelist Tom Harper.

In a lunchtime Q & A session, Mr Harper spoke about the writers who inspired him, how to create characters, and why he wanted to become an author.

He also offered the pupils advice on developing their writing as teenagers.

Librarian Amy Wong said: “It was wonderful to have Tom Harper visit St Peter’s School for World Book Day. He has written many engaging novels and we had a very informative and entertaining discussion with him about writing style and film adaptations. If anyone is interested in his work, we have all of his novels in the Library.”
