In response to the global coronavirus outbreak, St Peter’s School, York has implemented a strict visitor policy to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the whole school community. Following instructions from the government, the school site will be closed to pupils (apart from children of key workers) from the end of the day on Friday 20 March with no indication given of when that situation will change. Careers Convention

The Careers Department has organised a series of talks as part of National Careers Week (7-12 March).

The annual event is a celebration of careers guidance and provides seminars and activities for young people that focus on moving into the world of work.

St Peter’s pupils attended sessions including CV writing workshops, a visit from Old Peterite Tom Riley, who spoke about the Civil Service, and talks about the hospitality industry.

The week concluded with the Careers Convention for Fifth Form and Lower Sixth pupils. Sixty eight professionals from a variety of industries attended the Convention as they chatted to pupils about their respective industries, obtaining work experience and employment prospects.
