Frank Pick, a former pupil at St Peter’s, became Managing Director of the London Underground in the 1920s, which he led until 1940, overseeing a period of great development and growth in the network. Pick also commissioned its internationally famous modern architecture, posters and graphic design which continue to shape London Underground’s identity today. Oliver Green, former Head Curator of the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden, has recently published ‘Frank Pick's London: Art, Design and the Modern City’
