A Literary Lunch

Lee Harrison at St Peter's School

Our pupils have been exploring creative writing and fantasy novels as part of a literary lunch with author Lee Harrison.

The Hull-based writer spoke about his career, the publishing industry and postcolonial themes from his debut novel The Bastard Wonderland.

Pupils also had a chance to speak to Mr Harrison one to one as he discussed changes in publishing and the importance of literary agents.

Librarian Amy Wong said: “It was fantastic to have Lee Harrison visit St Peter’s and speak to our pupils about getting published. He is a very exciting young writer who has had an interesting life, and it was great to hear him read from his work and explore his literary journey.”

Lee Harrison has written numerous short stories. His debut novel The Bastard Wonderland will be published this year.
