The Woman With No Number

On Saturday 20 June Iby Knill will tell her story 70 years after Auschwitz’s liberation. The lecture starts at 6.30pm and is in partnership with the York Festival of Ideas.

Iby Knill will tell the story of her family as the threat from the Nazi’s closed around them in occupied Europe. Eventually, she was captured and sent to Auschwitz. Iby survived. Now, after many years silence she gives her account of these traumatic years. "Perhaps I survived to bear witness, to talk to you, to build bridges between people. What have I learned? What do I know? I know that human cruelty knows no bounds". (Iby Knill)

Tickets are free and are available on our Eventbrite page. If you have any enquiries or accessibility requirements please telephone us on 01904 527315 or email
