Park and Ride Scheme

Park and Ride Following many positive expressions of interest from parents, we have teamed up with Bootham School to provide an electric double decker bus service, with 40 seats available for pupils from St Peter’s School from Monday 20 April. We hope that this will provide an efficient morning service for families from both schools, whilst helping to alleviate traffic congestion problems in the city centre.

The bus will depart each morning from Poppleton Park & Ride at 7.45am and Rawcliffe Park & Ride at 8.00am, with a dedicated drop-off point for St Peter’s pupils outside St Peter’s School at 8.15am. The drop-off point will be located next to St Peter’s Grove Bridge and pupils will be able to walk over the bridge to reach the School. Seats will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

The journey will cost £1.50 per child per day (£7.50 per week payable termly in advance) and bus passes will be provided by St Peter’s School. All drivers will be DBS checked, although please note there will be no regular supervision on the buses.

The bus pass is valid for the morning journey only to allow for flexibility of return journeys, for which separate arrangements should be made. If your child would like to return to the Park & Ride sites, we suggest applying for a free YOzone card which gives discount on all Park & Ride journeys with First York: https://www.itravelyork.info/buses/fares-and-passes/yozone

To apply for the Park & Ride scheme, parents should complete the online form before 19 March 2020: https://stpyork.typeform.com/to/D8692X
