St Olave's tennis tournament













Young tennis players from schools across the region have been vying for glory at St Olave’s School’s annual tennis tournament.

The competition, now in its third year, comprises U13 and U12 categories, and was contested by teams from St Olave’s, Terrington Hall, Aysgarth, Bradford Grammar, RGS Newcastle and Hymers College.

The matches were played in a doubles format, with the teams facing group and knockout fixtures.

After a close competition Hymers College players were crowned champions of the U13 tournament, beating Aysgarth in the final.

RGS Newcastle claimed victory in the U12 competition, beating St Olave’s.

Dan Busby, Boys’ Games teacher and organiser of the event, said: “It has been a glorious day with fantastic conditions for tennis. We saw some great play from all the schools. Congratulations to Hymers and RGS Newcastle on their success.”
