Our J5 (Year 8) and J4 (Year 7) pupils have taken part in the UK Junior Maths Challenge along with 250,000 pupils from other schools across the UK.
Thirteen pupils received gold awards which are given to the top 6% of results across the country. Poppy, David, Tom, Matthew, Laura, Ben, Charles, Max, Kingsley, Will, Andrew, Harry and Samuel won Gold awards, with Harry winning best in J4 and Samuel winning the best in the School.
Sam, Andrew, Will, Kingsley and Max also competed in the Junior Maths Kangaroo – a maths challenge that only the top 2% from the whole of the UK are invited to. The pupils competed on 14 June and are awaiting the results.
The Junior Mathematics Challenge is run by the UK Mathematics Trust and is supported by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. It is aimed at those in Years 7 and 8 and is sat in schools all around the UK.
The UK Mathematics Trust is a registered charity whose aim is to advance the education of children and young people in mathematics. It organises national maths competitions and other mathematical enrichment activities for UK secondary school pupils.
