Support Us

In Our Community

Our community benefits from a long-standing tradition of generosity, and by supporting us today, you can help us to continue that tradition for years to come.

You can help us make a real difference by supporting our Keys for Life Campaign which allows us to offer places to children who would benefit from attending St Peter’s but whose parents cannot afford the fees. These pupils help to create a diverse community, creating a better learning environment for all.

Ways to Give

We're delighted that you are considering supporting us.  Whether you choose to make a financial donation to St Peter’s School or volunteer your time, and there's a way of giving to suit everyone. However you choose to give, your support will make a difference.

Donations

Financial donations are always greatly appreciated and there are many ways to donate, whether you choose to give regularly or as one-off donations. Donations come in all shapes and sizes and every donation that we receive is used in accordance with the wishes of the donor.  For example, donations for fee assistance will only ever be used for that purpose, in accordance with our Donor Charter.

Please use the tabs below to find out more about donating to St Peter’s School.

You can spread the cost of any donation by making monthly or annual gifts by direct debit.  At present, two pupils are being directly supported by regular gifts from Donors to the 627 Society, and your support will help us to extend that further.

You can donate by completing and returning this donation form, or give securely online using CAF Donate.

Some donors choose to make their donation directly to the School bank account. You can make a transfer using the details below. Please use your first initial, surname for 'HWF' for our reference. You can also send an email to [email protected] with details of your donation, so we can acknowledge your support.

A large number of donors like to give by cheque.  Please make your cheque payable to 'St Peter’s School', and complete our donation form, or enclose a note to let us know how you would like us to use your donation - for example, whether you would like it to support fee assistance or whether you are happy to use it in the area of most need. We will be in touch with you as soon as we receive it.

You can give by phone between 8.30am - 4pm from Monday to Friday.  Please call us on 01904 527 322.

After you family and friends have been taken care of, a legacy is an opportunity to give your support to causes you care about. There can also be tax benefits to leaving a legacy. Please contact Philippa Dunford-Jeffs for more information.

If you wish to make a major gift to our fee assistance campaign, or to campus development or would like to discuss other opportunities for supporting the School with larger donations, please contact us so that we can discuss the options available.

If you have any questions about supporting us, or discussing opportunities for major gifts, please do not hesitate to contact Philippa Dunford-Jeffs on 01904 527 363

Boost your donation to us by 25p for every £1 you donate by completing our Gift Aid Declaration. Making your gift tax-efficient your donation can be worth even more to us, and if you are a higher rate taxpayer will cost you less.

Complete the Gift Aid Declaration on our donation form, or you can download and print just our Gift Aid Declaration

The British Schools and Universities Foundations (BSUF) has been set up to enable tax-efficient giving from the USA.

To make a gift and take a U.S. income tax deduction, you may make a donation to the British Schools & Universities Foundation (Federal Tax ID 13-616-1189), a charitable organization approved by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service under code Section 501(c)(3). Write your check to the order of the British Schools & Universities Foundation.

You should express a preference for St Peter's School in your transmittal letter, not on your check. Such preferences are respected by the Foundation but all grants are made at its sole discretion, as required by the IRS.

For more information and to donate online you can visit the BSUF website, please specify 'St Peter's School, York' when asked for an 'Approved Institution'.

Or you can download and complete the Donor Transmittal Form. This can be sent directly to BSUF, returned to St Peter's School, or sent via our US Old Peterite representative, James Curley.

If you have any questions about giving from the USA or your donation, please contact Philippa Dunford-Jeffs.

Gifts in Kind

Financial donations are extremely welcome but donating gifts in kind can be tremendously beneficial for our community.  It offers an alternative way to support the School and can be made as a personal donation or through a business.  We work with the relevant members of staff and pupils to help you identify the best possible gift - gifts in kind are a tremendously enjoyable way to support the School.

In the past we have welcomed a huge variety of gifts in kind as raffle prizes at School events, including the Boat Club Dinner and events run by the Friends groups. We are always very grateful for the support we receive. The proceeds from these events go to fund equipment, trips and opportunities that will enhance and benefit our current pupils here at St Peter’s School.

We are also extremely grateful to those donors who choose to donate a specific item to us; whether that’s a rowing boat or a grand piano!  However, we do urge you to contact us before deciding on a gift, so that we can advise you of the greatest need in your area of interest, or any specific requirements that we must meet, and help you to ensure that your generous gift will benefit as many pupils as possible.

Please do contact us if you would like to donate a gift in kind.

Our Commitment

We take our responsibilities as a charity extremely seriously.  You can read our Donor Charter and fundraising guidelines or contact us if you have any questions.
