Enrolment at Nursery or Reception begins your child’s journey through to our oversubscribed school.

A typical Day in Reception
Each child is fully supported and cared for by dedicated teachers and teaching assistants. Small class sizes, individual pupil attention and close contact between home and school helps our children to thrive.
Children are provided with healthy snacks and drinks throughout the school day and our varied and nutritious lunch menus cater for all diets, using locally sourced produce where possible. Please see our dedicated catering page for our food charter and example menu.
Before & After School Care
We know that many of our parents are busy individuals, so optional care is available before and after the school day.
- Before School Care (included in school fee): 7:45am to 8:25am
- After School Care or Clubs (included in school fee*): 3:20pm to 4:15pm
- After School Care (additional charge): 4:15pm to 6pm
Water, fruit, sandwiches and nutritious snacks are provided throughout the sessions from 4.15 - 6.00pm. During this time, our dedicated staff supervise children with a range of activities including arts and crafts materials, board games and iPads.

The Application Process
Before applying, we warmly invite you to join us for one of our Open Events or arrange a visit to explore the School and discover what it means to be part of the St Peter’s School community.
If you’d like to visit us multiple times before you apply, please do! We encourage you to visit as much as you like so you can get to know us and be confident in your decision.
If you are ready to apply, please complete our online application form. Upon receipt of your application, a member of the admissions team will be in touch to guide you through the process.
We advise you to submit an application at least a year in advance. The deadline for applying to Reception is 31 December, before the September your child is looking to join us.
We follow an informal assessment process for all applications into Reception. This includes a meeting with the Head, and then completion of an Early Years Transition Report from your child’s current nursery or childcare setting.
We aim to make most offers between December and March. Should a year group be oversubscribed, pupils will be offered a place on our waiting list from which offers can be made at any time up to the beginning of the new school year subject to availability.
If your application is successful, your child will be invited to attend a moving up day in the Summer Term, where they will meet their future teacher and classmates ahead of the September start to term.
