Opening in January 2027, The Rise Nursery marks the next chapter in St Peter’s long and distinguished educational story. Rooted in heritage and shaped by contemporary research and practice, The Rise will offer a nursery experience that is both timeless and forward‑looking.
Here, every child’s unique story begins with joy, wonder and possibility.
The Rise Nursery
At The Rise Nursery, we are devoted to giving every child the most enriching beginning to early childhood, shaped by warmth, wonder and exceptional care.
We will honour the joy of childhood through a calm, unhurried and intentional approach, offering babies and young children the time and space they need to grow in confidence, curiosity and delight. Through play and exploration, children will be encouraged to investigate, create and discover the world around them.
We recognise that even the youngest children are capable, thoughtful and deeply curious. Each day will be shaped with care, intention and a deep understanding of early childhood development, ensuring experiences are both joyful and purposeful.

Our Approach
Our Philosophy & Curriculum
The Rise Nursery is a place where children are respected and celebrated for who they are. Children will enjoy long, uninterrupted periods of play, becoming deeply immersed in their fascinations within thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor environments.
We take a workshop approach to learning. Every resource will be purposeful and carefully chosen, supporting imagination, exploration and skill development. Children will return to familiar materials, building confidence, mastery and creativity over time.
Language and communication are central to daily life. Stories, songs and meaningful conversations weave throughout the day, supported by a serve and return approach that nurtures rich language, understanding and connection.
Our environments remain responsive and alive, evolving to reflect children’s emerging interests and needs.

Inspired Practice
We are Reggio Emilia inspired, valuing collaboration between children, families and practitioners. Projects will unfold gradually, shaped by children’s ideas and shared exploration.
We are also on our journey to becoming a Curiosity Approach accredited setting, reflecting our commitment to child‑led, research‑informed practice and beautiful, intentional environments.
Our curriculum follows the EYFS Statutory Framework, informed by Development Matters and Birth to 5 Matters, and underpinned by the best evidence in early childhood development.
Our Learning Spaces
Some of the extensive facilities that Nursery children will have access to are below:
Housekeeping & Daily Care
A dedicated Housekeeping team will support cleaning, laundry and mealtimes, allowing practitioners to focus fully on nurturing relationships and high‑quality interactions within calm, welcoming environments.
Catering & Mealtimes
High‑quality nutrition plays a vital role in children’s wellbeing and development. Our Catering Manager works closely with our Nursery Manager, Chef and a qualified Nutritionist to create balanced, seasonal menus.
All meals meet Government nutritional guidance and support positive relationships with food from the earliest age. Dietary needs and allergies are carefully accommodated, and The Rise is a nut‑free nursery.
We will work closely with families throughout the weaning journey and provide breastfeeding-friendly spaces and bottle-feeding facilities.

Leadership & Care
Exceptional care is shaped by experienced leadership. Our Nursery Manager is a Qualified Teacher and Early Years Specialist, and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, working closely with the wider school safeguarding and health & safety teams in addition to our on-site medical team
Strong systems support children with additional needs, led by our experienced SENDCo across Nursery and Junior School, ensuring early identification and inclusive practice.
Our Team & Keyperson Approach
Every child will have a dedicated Keyperson who builds a secure, trusting relationship with both child and family. Our practitioners will be highly trained, reflective, research‑led and supported through specialist mentoring and a no‑lone‑working policy.

Partnership with Families
We believe children thrive when nurseries and families work together in genuine partnership. Daily conversations, Tapestry updates, weekly newsletters and monthly Letters to You written to your child by their Keyperson will ensure families feel informed and connected.
We will also offer parent workshops and support sessions covering child development, welfare, first aid and weaning, creating a strong community of care around each child.
