We're delighted that from September 2025, St Peter's School have partnered with Splaat Photo Service, who will be working with us throughout the academic year to capture professional photographs and videos of our pupils in school.
From school portraits to plays, sports matches, music recitals, and special events, moments will be beautifully documented and delivered to parents via a secure online gallery, for parents to have an insight into the wonderful learning their child has access to.
What Splaat Photo Will Do
- Precious Moments Captured - From classroom life to sports, concerts, and performances, Splaat Photo will photograph the events and daily life as requested by the school.
- Video Coverage - Selected events chosen by the school, such as plays and concerts, will also be filmed, where consents allow.
- Private & Secure Access - Your gallery will be protected by Splaat Photo’s school-safe facial recognition system, built in-house with safeguarding and GDPR compliance at its core. Only your family will be able to view your child’s photos.
- Free to View - Free to view throughout the year. Individual prints and Annual Access options are also available.
- Instant Notifications - You will receive email or SMS alerts as soon as new photos or videos are added.

FAQs
Splaat is an optional additional service. If you choose not to sign up, no photos will be taken of your child other than the first one at the start of the year (as per our process from previous years).
If you decide you would not like to register for free for the Splaat service or have concerns over your child being photographed, it is useful if you can email the school on [email protected]. We can then ensure we add extra precaution when photographing your child's year group and we will not longer chase you to register.
If a parent does not wish to register, but does still wish to view and possibly purchase their child's portrait, they need to get in touch with Splaat via [email protected]. We can then give them access to their child's gallery once it's ready (which will only show their portrait).
This portrait will not have gone through the facial recognition process.
Splaat need to have as many free registrations back as possible before the galleries can be released (as then the images can go through the facial recognition technology). This could take a few weeks, but the sooner you and others register, the sooner we can get the images to your secure online galleries!

If you give one off consent for your child's photo to be taken for individual photos at the beginning of the year or class photos (and usually do not have consent for Splaat), the photos will not be processed by AI. Since consent has not been given for Splaat’s facial recognition system, no facial recognition reference image, biometric template, or AI “footprint” will be created or stored for the child.
The only item that will be stored is the class photograph itself, so that the image can be viewed by families in the gallery.
This image would then be retained in line with Splaat Photo’s standard retention policy. When a pupil leaves the school, families are notified that their gallery is scheduled for deletion and are given a period of time to complete any final downloads or purchases should they wish to do so. After that point, the images are permanently and irreversibly deleted from all systems.
For example, pupils leaving in July would typically continue to have access to their gallery until the following April before deletion takes place.
Splaat Photo’s retention policy is designed to ensure compliance with UK GDPR requirements and to prevent images and pupil data from being retained indefinitely. This includes the deletion of all associated pupil data and any temporary processing copies once the retention period ends.
