This week pupils enjoyed an inspiring career talk from Vicky Williams, a veterinary surgeon from Station House Vets in Welburn.

Vicky shared insights into her clinical work with a wide range of animals, including horses, small animals, and pets, and highlighted the many career pathways within veterinary medicine - such as laboratory pathology, farm animal practice, ophthalmology, food industry health services, and traditional companion‑animal care. She also spoke about the key qualities needed to succeed as a vet, emphasising the importance of resilience, compassion, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Pupils really seemed to enjoy this opportunity to speak to a true professional about her field and took away very useful advice for discerning a future career. Other careers talks take place regularly in our Sixth Form study space, many of which by Old Peterites, and cover a range of fields and interests. These opportunities help Senior School pupils to look into many options for life after St Peter's.
