A Typical Day at The Junior School
Each child is fully supported and cared for by dedicated teachers and teaching assistants. Small class sizes, individual pupil attention and close contact between home and school helps our children to thrive.
Our pupil's days are full of activities, stimulation and exploration. They enjoy a delicious and nutritious lunch and snacks throughout the day, all cooked on site by our catering team.
The day can start at 7:45am with our early drop off option, and ends between 3:20pm and 6pm depending on your choice of after school clubs.

The Application Process
Before applying, we warmly invite you to join us for one of our Open Events or arrange a visit to explore the School and discover what it means to be part of the St Peter’s School community.
If you’d like to visit us multiple times before you apply, please do! We encourage you to visit as much as you like so you can get to know us and be confident in your decision.
If you are ready to apply, please complete our online application form. Upon receipt of your application, a member of the admissions team will be in touch to guide you through the process.
We advise you to submit an application at least a year in advance. The deadline for applying is 31 December, before the September your child is looking to join us.
Pre-School and Reception Assessment
We follow an informal assessment process for all applications into Pre-School and Reception. This includes a meeting with the Head, and then completion of an Early Years Transition Report from your child’s current nursery or childcare setting.
Year 1 - Year 3 Assessment
From Year 1 to Year 3 we ask the pupils to come in for an assessment day where they will join one of our current classes for the day. Pupils applying for Year 2 and Year 3 will take part in an abridged assessment which is 3 of the 5 parts of the INCAS assessment. This will be followed by a short informal meeting with the Head to get to know your family.
Year 4 - Year 6 Assessment
For pupils applying to Years 4, 5 and 6, applicants will come in for an assessment day where they will complete the full INCAS assessment.
The assessment will consist of reading, spelling, mathematics, arithmetic, developed ability and a short creative writing prompt. This will be followed by a short informal meeting with the Head to get to know your family.
We aim to make most offers between February and March. Should a year group be oversubscribed, pupils will be offered a place on our waiting list from which offers can be made at any time up to the beginning of the new school year subject to availability.
If your application is successful, your child will be invited to attend a moving up day in the Summer Term, where they will meet their future teacher and classmates ahead of the September start to term.
