We are really excited to introduce our latest sporting summer academy. St Peter's Hockey Academy will be four days of hockey training and match play over seen by a team of St Peter's and external hockey coaches and a master class coaching session with a player with international accolades.

The academy is open to all girls and boys aged from 9 years plus (school year 4 plus). All abilities are welcome, but bring along bags of enthusiasm and energy for lots of hockey!

Our aim in the Academy is to improve and develop each individual player, whatever their starting level or position. We will achieve this through focusing on a different theme each day and by taking the time to drill into greater technical detail in small groups, before exploring the technical elements further in small-sided games. St Peter's Hockey Academy will also have a mixture of complimentary activities alongside the hockey - such as fundamental movement skills which not only benefit our young athletes in hockey but other sports too. We will end each day with an exciting team exercise which allows for a break from hockey and allows players to come together,  build friendships across age groups and further players leadership and self-organising qualities that are a big part of playing in a team game.

A typical day on the our hockey academy:

09:00   Fundamental movements and S&C warm-up

10:00   Technical Development Focus

12:00   Lunch

12:45   Daily Skills Challenge

13:45   Break

14:00   Technical development continued leading into small sided games

15:30   Afternoon tea

16:00   Anything BUT hockey!! End the day by all coming together in one fun-packed hour of doing something different e.g. water polo, gladiators, Zorb football and / or team challenges.

17:00   Parent pick-up

Academy Highlights:

• Each player will receive an individual Player Profile booklet to take notes during coaching where coaches will also include their feedback
• Each player will receive a personalised St Peter's hockey match top and hoodie

Food and drink included:

• All day fresh water & squash
• Morning fruit and biscuits
• Lunch, cooked meal, salad bar and dessert
• Afternoon hockey tea of sandwiches and cakes
