In Pastoral

There are many ways that we welcome parents and offer opportunities for collaboration and learning, some of which are listed below.

Parents Evenings

Parents are invited to regular one to one parent evenings to discuss their child's progress. Parents are given the option of face to face or online meetings depending on their schedule.

In addition to Parent Evenings, parents have an open line of communication with their child's class teacher or House parent to ask questions or discuss concerns.

Parent updates

Parents at St Peter's are regularly kept up to date with their child's learning and new developments at the school.

A few ways in which we stay in touch are:

  • Weekly newsletters for all Year groups.
  • Termly email updates from the Head Master on school-wide updates.
  • Evidence Me App based updates for pupils in our younger years, with photos of pupil's class activities and individual updates.
  • Parent forums where parents are welcomed in for Q&A sessions with the Head Master and Senior Leadership.
  • Careers and UCAS advice emails and information from our dedicated careers team.

Upskilling Opportunities

Parents at St Peter's have access to extra resources and upskilling sessions. Examples include:

Tooled Up Education

Tooled Up Education collaborates with schools worldwide, offering tailored support to enhance home-school partnerships and promote holistic child development. The platform's mission is to equip every adult in a child's life with the resources needed to nurture self-confident, curious, and digitally resilient young individuals. Through its extensive and growing library, Tooled Up Education continues to be a valuable resource for families seeking to navigate the challenges of modern parenting. All staff and parents at St Peter’s have access to the full library of resources.

Lectures and Masterclasses

Parents are invited in to extra sessions that help them with their child's learning at home, such as phonics masterclasses, how to nurture talent and potential at home, or resources on topics covered in the pupil's PSHE lessons. We also offer specialist support for parents of children using our Learning Support services.

Open Classrooms

In Reception to Year 3, parents are invited to visit their child's class on Friday mornings before Assembly. This is a lovely opportunity for children to show their parents around and display their learning.

Concerts, Fixtures and Exhibitions

Throughout the year, parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend their child's performances, sports matches and art exhibitions.

Not only is it wonderful to see your child having the confidence to display their hard work or skills, but it is a perfect opportunity to meet other parents.
