St Peter's 13-18
Over many years, we have welcomed dozens of pupils to the school, as part of our fee assistance programme.
Not only do these children contribute hugely to the community of our school, through their talents, curiosity, enthusiasm and ability to build relationships, but they themselves benefit from the St Peter's experience, for the rest of their lives.
During their time with us, pupils will benefit from:
Teaching that is rated excellent
Our most recent inspection report resulted in the school being graded 'excellent' in all areas.
The report states:
"Pupils academic and other achievements are excellent, as demonstrated through pupils' substantial success in areas such as sports and the expressive arts, scholarships and leavers' destination. The list of pupils' successes is extensive and spans all the three schools. Pupils demonstrate their readiness to excel, gaining awards in music, dance, drama, public speaking and youth leadership. They also participate competitively, and very often successfully, in a broad range of sporting events. The pupils achieve so well because the school is proactive in creating opportunities for them to do so, and because of the pupils' entirely positive attitudes to learning. They display a strong willingness to work collaboratively and on their own initiative. Pupils are committed to achieving the best they can."
Pastoral care that focuses on helping each child thrive
Our pastoral team ensure that each individual child has the support, opportunities and challenge they need in order to thrive and be happy.
As well as considering children's immediate needs, for safety, self-responsibility and personal development, our pastoral team - which includes our chaplain, the house parents who look after each mixed-age group of children, our sanatorium staff and our teaching staff - look to help develop young people who, long after they leave St Peter's will have the skills they need to build happy, productive lives.
The ISI reported that:
"Pupils' well-being and personal development continue to flourish because the highly effective pastoral system keeps each pupil clerly in view and accurately addresses their needs."
