The life-long difference fees help can make to a child

BoggleHoleSept19 15

Over many years, we have welcomed dozens of pupils to the school, as part of our fee assistance programme.

Not only do these children contribute hugely to the community of our school, through their talents, curiosity, enthusiasm and ability to build relationships, but they themselves benefit from the St Peter's experience, for the rest of their lives.

Teaching that is rated excellent

StPeters Nov18 12

Our most recent inspection report resulted in the school being graded 'excellent' in all areas.

The report states:

"Pupils academic and other achievements are excellent, as demonstrated through pupils' substantial success in areas such as sports and the expressive arts, scholarships and leavers' destination. The list of pupils' successes is extensive and spans all the three schools. Pupils demonstrate their readiness to excel, gaining awards in music, dance, drama, public speaking and youth leadership. They also participate competitively, and very often successfully, in a broad range of sporting events. The pupils achieve so well because the school is proactive in creating opportunities for them to do so, and because of the pupils' entirely positive attitudes to learning. They display a strong willingness to work collaboratively and on their own initiative. Pupils are committed to achieving the best they can."

Pastoral care that focuses on helping each child thrive

StPeters June19 11

Our pastoral team ensure that each individual child has the support, opportunities and challenge they need in order to thrive and be happy.

As well as considering children's immediate needs, for safety, self-responsibility and personal development, our pastoral team - which includes our chaplain, the house parents who look after each mixed-age group of children, our sanatorium staff and our teaching staff - look to help develop young people who, long after they leave St Peter's will have the skills they need to build happy, productive lives.

The ISI reported that:

"Pupils' well-being and personal development continue to flourish because the highly effective pastoral system keeps each pupil clerly in view and accurately addresses their needs."

Help for the future

StPeters 7thFeb 0063

Careers and Higher Education provision at St Peter's School is led and co-ordinated by a dedicated Careers department.

From Year 9 through to Sixth Form, group and individual provision ensures that pupils have the knowledge, skills, confidence and real-life work experience to help them follow their chosen path.

The support of recent alumni from the school, in sharing their insights, arranging placements and providing links to leading employers, is invaluable.

The St Peter's School Careers department has been awarded the Career Mark Awards for its excellence in careers education, information, advice and guidance.

Our Help With Fees pupil have a strong record in happy, productive lives after leaving St Peters. Many attend leading universities, achieving recognition in their chosen careers. All stay part of the extended St Peter's community through our extensive alumni programme for all Old Peterites.

An article in The Independent reviews the life-long impact on children of the Assisted Place scheme, which operated in the 1980s.

We understand that moving your child to St Peter's may be a daunting process. We thoroughly believe that for certain children it can unlock new experiences, friendships and opportunities.

Please do speak to us, if you would like more advice. You can also request a Help With Fees application pack.
