About St Peter's School

  • Founded in 627 AD, St Peter’s School is the fourth oldest school in the world
  • We offer education from ages 2+ (rising 3) to 18 at three schools: Clifton School and Nursery (rising 3-8), St Olave’s School (8-13) and St Peter’s School (13-18)
  • We are a co-educational school offering both day and boarding education
  • Pupil numbers as of September 2015 are: 554 at St Peter’s, 352 at St Olave’s and 193 at Clifton, totalling 1099
  • The boy / girl split is approximately 60:40 across the School as a whole
  • Approximately 170 pupils are boarders. Boarding starts at age 10
  • Pupils from overseas usually make up approximately 25% of the boarding community, and 10% of the whole Senior School community
  • In 2016, the A-Level A* - B pass rate was 83%, and pupils passed 76% of GCSEs at A* or A (pre-appeal)
  • The majority proceed to Russell Group or elite universities. Popular subjects include medicine, engineering, history, politics and modern languages
  • We employ approximately 380 individual members of staff of whom 130 are teaching staff
  • The site occupies 47 acres
  • Annual fees range from £7,470 in the Nursery to £16,935 (Day), £28,140 (Boarding) and £28,845 (Non-EU Boarding) in the Senior School
  • Well-known alumni include: Guy Fawkes, composer John Barry, cricketer Jonny Bairstow, and actor Greg Wise
