In Admissions

The purpose of the education at St Peter's is to inspire pupils to see that they can really make a difference in their world. We will help nurture a character centred on integrity, kindness and respect in all their interactions with others, whilst providing them with the opportunities to learn beyond the curriculum, discover new interests and passions, and become the best version of themselves they can be.

A typical Day

Daily life at St Peter's is full of excitement and discovery. Alongside an inspiring curriculum, our pupils enjoy an exceptional range of co-curricular activities

Subjects studied from Year 7 are as follows: English, Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History, Geography, Religious Studies, IT, French, German, Spanish, Latin, Drama, Art, Design & Technology, Music, PE, Sport, Philosophy

For further information on the curriculum, please see here.

One of the great strengths of St Peter's is that it is a through school with pupils aged from 2 to 18. Many pupils have siblings in the school, fostering a sense of community which is central to the pastoral support offered at St Peter's, and shapes the daily life of our school.

The school day typically starts from 7:45 to 8:20am and clubs and co-curricular activities run until 5pm.

Children are provided with healthy snacks and drinks throughout the school day and our varied and nutritious lunch menus cater for all diets, using locally sourced produce where possible. Please see our dedicated catering page for our food charter and example menu.

Apply Now

All prospective pupils must pass the school’s entrance assessment. The entrance assessments take place in the January of the year of entry. You will be sent a letter with details of the entrance assessments in the second half term of the Christmas term. You will also be sent a form to complete, where you can tell us about your child’s interests and achievements.

Although the assessment papers are a major element in selection, the offer will be subject to a satisfactory confidential report from your child’s current Head Teacher. You will be sent this report to give to your child’s Head Teacher before the assessments take place.

The entrance assessments will include computer-based maths, English and reasoning tests, a creative writing paper and a group task. We do not expect pupils to prepare or revise for the tests as they are designed to show us how a pupil thinks, rather than what they have covered in the curriculum.

Prospective pupils will then have an opportunity to meet members of staff so that we can learn more about their interests.

Candidates are informed of the outcome of the application process in February. Applicants applying after this time may well find that there are only Waiting List places available.
