St Peter's 2-8 Art

York Open Studios returns this year from 10-11 and 17-18 July, with an exciting programme of exhibitions featuring four artists from St Peter's School.

Chris Hall, Hazel Battersby and Penny Phillips from the St Peter's School Art Department and Jane Wright, a peripatetic music teacher at St Peter's, will be joining 142 other artists across York for this year's event.

Chris, Hazel, Penny and Jane will be showcasing their work in the Whitestone Gallery at St Peter's School, one of 95 venues participating in York Open Studios this year. The exhibition at St Peter's will be hosted over two weekends in July, 10-11 and 17-18 July, with a private view on the evening of Saturday 10 July.

Members of the public are warmly invited to attend the Whitestone Gallery exhibition between 10am -5pm each weekend, and social distancing measures will be in place to ensure the safety of all visitors.

Chris Hall

Chris uses hot wax and caustic soda to etch lino. The intention is to create prints that hint
at landscape but without direct reference to it.

York Open Studios

This year marks the 20th anniversary of York Open Studios, a self-funded annual event which celebrates the work of local artists. The event is organised by the artists and other volunteers.

Visitors are invited to explore a number of open venues in York where they can admire the work of some of York's most talented artists and meet the artists themselves. The line-up features a variety of artists, showcasing a huge range of media and styles, so there really is something for everyone.
