St Peter's 13-18
Who we are
The Friends of St Peter’s (FOSP) help support the school in a variety of projects and activities, aimed at creating a positive and friendly school community.
If you are a parent of a St Peter’s pupil, you are automatically a member of the Friends. FOSP has a small committee which aims to represent every House and year group in the School. In addition, we have helpers, who are not on the committee but who can be called upon to lend a hand at events.
What we do
FOSP help at events including music concerts, cabaret nights, and Stargazing Live. Funds raised at these events are used for staff bids to purchase equipment and resources to benefit as many of our pupils as possible. We have been able to contribute towards items such as benches, electronic scoreboards, specialist music equipment, and to the pupil-led Eco Committee. Each year we also support the school's Chapel Charity; for 2018/19 we were able to donate over £400 to the Teenage Cancer Trust and for 2019/20 we are supporting Mind.
The raffles we organise at these events are a great way to raise funds and we are always looking for prizes. Previously we have had bottles of champagne, restaurant vouchers, overnight cottage stays, and Christmas wreaths. If you can help by donating a raffle prize please contact the Chair (see details below).
Getting involved
Supporting school events helps to enrich life at St Peter’s for pupils, staff and parents. We understand that helping on a regular basis is a big commitment, but we would like to encourage all parents to offer their help for just one or two events each year. Volunteering is also a very good way to get to know other parents. If you would like to offer your help at an individual event, please contact the Chair (see details below).
