A number of places are also available annually in Year 3, at age 7. It is also possible to join at other year groups subject to availability. Ideally, you should contact us at least a year in advance, but we welcome enquiries throughout the academic year.

The entry process:

If you are ready to apply for entry to St Peter’s 2-8, please complete our online application form. Upon receipt of your application a member of the admissions team will be in touch to guide you through the process.

2. Assessments

We follow an informal assessment process for all applications into St Peter’s 2-8. This includes a meeting with the Head, Mr Phil Hardy, and then completion of either an Early Years Transition Report from your child’s current nursery for children applying for a place in Rising 3, Nursery, Reception or a Pupil Transfer Request Form for children applying for a place in Year 1, Year 2 or Year 3. Applicants into Year 2 and 3 will also need to complete some work on InCAS, (CEM assessments which focus on six key developmental areas, Reading, Spelling, Mathematics, Mental Arithmetic, Developed Ability and Attitudes). Children are invited into nursery for taster session and opportunity to meet the staff and familiarise themselves with their surroundings. For Reception – Year 3 children are invited to attend a taster day where they will work with the class teacher and complete some reading, writing and Incas (as required).

3. Offer of a place

We do not have a specific date when offers are made however we aim to make most offers between January – March. Should a year group be oversubscribed, pupils will be offered a place on our waiting list from which offers can be made at any time up to the beginning of the new school year subject to availability.
