Our J2 (Year 5) and J4 (Year 7) pupils have become chefs for the day as part of their Life Skills course.
The children took part in an 80 minute cookery session, learning some basic cookery skills, food nutrition and hygiene in the kitchen.
Working in groups, the pupils made pizza dough from scratch and chose from a variety of ingredients to make a nutritious topping. The pizzas were a variety of shapes and sizes, ranging from thin crust to thick crust and even some calzones.
Throughout the session the pupils had to work together to wash up equipment and keep their work surfaces clean.
Anja Miller, Science teacher and organiser of the Life Skills course, said: “A lot of fun was had while learning these very important life skills. One student even said that it was the best-tasting pizza they had ever had!”
